I'm hoping someone can help with my question so here goes.

I am buying a new PC soon as my old one is too slow. I was wondering is there an easy way to transfer the L4D files to a new PC without using an original installation disc?

Originally, I bought L4D and later discovered to my surprise that I could play it without the original disc, so I took the it back to the shop. I've been playing the game ever since through Steam, so presumable somehow the game is stored online as well as on my PC? Once I get my new PC, would I have to buy the original L4D game and install it again like before in order to access my account or would I just go online through steam using my new PC and play from there? I'm thinking I would have to install the actual game before I can do this of course.
